Bob & Leny spent first few days of March at the Mararu Hotel Pier at the Mararu Hotel Bob swimming in the lagoon Not much to do - Bob & Leny found it takes only 5 hours to bicycle completely around Bora Bora After flying to Aukland: NEW ZEALAND NORTH ISLAND Bob & Leny took the last raft trip down the Tongariru before it was dammed Bob with tourguide who pushed him to the top Tongariro Crater from rim Mount Ngauruhoe View of Wellington Hotel Chateau Tongariro	Bob and Leny went on a big adventure this winter (summer in the southern hemisphere), touring a few south pacific islands - Tahiti, Bora Bora, and New Zealand's North & South islands. The high point was trekking the Milford Track on the South Island. The trip lasted several weeks. After taking a boat from Wellington NZ South Island Visiting a wild animal park near Greymouth After the "worst floods in memory", landslide stopped bus travel, and Bob & Leny were stranded at a motor camp in Westland without electricity for 2 days, missing the Fox Glacier, but got to fly over it later. The tour resumed at Queensland Milford Track McKinnon Pass Leny at Sutherland Falls Between Giants Gate & Sandfly Point, Bob slipped on a mossy rock and smashed his knee just below the cap. As he fell, his knapsack with the 6# Hasselblad camera rolled over on the straps and hit his head into the muck. He reported "5 days later, in Auckland, a NZ doctor (for no charge) prescribed antibiotic pills for the infection, which had spread from a conusion into the swollen bruise. The ugent pharmacy charged NZ$0.20 for the pills. Upon return to the US, the US pharmacist charged US$13.00 for some more pills. That's the difference between socialized & free enterprise medicine." Everyone posed for Bob's photo on return from Milford Finishing up in Christchurch They had a rental Honda for this leg of the trip

Jef came back to CA this year. Here is Bob, wearing Oriole cap, & Jef by the Queen Mary Jef & Leny by the Spruce Goose, which resided in Long Beach during the 80s	Pictures for this year were guessed via apparell & age of prints. Jef had an Oriole cap he brought back after living in MD for 1 1/2 years. Bob's shirt also helped with the date. Very few pix Jef took were dated. Bob around this time at unknown location Francis, JoAnn?, Marian & Bob at either Thanksgiving or Xmas this year - Leny had already put out the place settings Bob & Leny at his niece JoAnne's house in Long Beach for Thanksgiving this year

Bob & Jef beside house on Landa St. Bob decided to put a section of shade on the garage roof for hot days in the summer about this time Thanksgiving in Walnut this year at dad's niece, JoAnn's house	Jef had asked Bob to design a house he planned to build in Borrego. Bob worked on the blueprints and construction started early the followng year. Also, Bob & Leny took Jef to Idylwild sometime in the 80s - could have been this year, as Jef was between jobs, if so, here's some pix from that hike. Our destination on this hike is atop this granite cliff. We started on Humber Park trailhead near Idylwild. Crossing a creek Jef remembers Bob identifying this as a Coulter pine cone Bob & Leny at look out Bob testing snow after turning on high trail to fire lookout structure Leny navigating a patch of snow We arrived at a fire lookout station before turning around - this is near there
