SAN CLEMENTE CAMPOUTWe had a very successful campout at San Clemente State Beach September 20-25. We had about 18 RVs & tents camping and quite a few people came by during the day. On Friday night 44 of us attended a great dinner at McCarys - thank you McCarys! On Saturday night almost 60 came for our cookout in the picnic area - thanks to all! If you are missing a spoon, knife or bowl, contact Carmen Perez and we will arrange to get it to you. On Sunday night 20 went to Tom & Ellie Mears for dessert & coffee - thank you Mears! It seemed everyone had a great time and the weather was beautiful!

NOVEMBER TOURNAMENT AT SOBOBA SPRINGS
NOVEMBER 4 & 5We will have a change in location for our tournaments this season. Unfortunately, we have lost the use of Borrego Springs Tennis Club for now. We were not able to reach an agreement with the owner for the use of the courts and we understand that there will no longer be any camping available at that location. So it was decided to hold our first tournament at Soboba Springs which is near Hemet in Riverside County. The October date was not available there, so we will have our tournament on the weekend of November 4 & 5. The address is Soboba Springs Royal Vista Golf Course at 1020 Soboba Rd. in San Jacinto, CA 92583. The Tennis Shop number is (909) 654-4233. Our club will be paying $750 for the use of their tennis facilities for the weekend. They will provide the use of 4 or more tennis courts on Saturday and Sunday for our tournament. There will be RV parking but it will be dry camping - no hook-ups. Instead of a potluck we will try their restaurant facility for our Saturday night dinner - the cost for dinner will be $15 per person which includes your choice of fish or chicken, coffee or tea and tax & tip. We must know how many will attend the dinner on Saturday night. The deadline for reservations is Oct. 20. Please make your reservation and send your check made out to Borrego Springs Tennis Club to:
Harold PlettLet him know if you want fish or chicken.

SUGGESTIONS FOR SITES FOR FUTURE TOURNAMENTSIf you have a suggestion for a possible site for a future tournament, bring your suggestion to the next tournament for consideration by the group and be prepared with the following information:
(1) Will they provide us the use of at least 4 courts Saturday & Sunday?
(2) Do they have a place for RV parking and/or a motel nearby?
(3) Do they have a room where our group could gather for cards and possibly a potluck dinner?
(4) What would be the price for the weekend? (We are paying $750 at Soboba.)
