Tom Mear won the $50 drawing after the tournament - congratulations, Tom! He generously donated it back to the tennis club - thank you, Tom!

NEXT TOURNAMENT - JANUARY 13 & 14

The January tournament will be held at Borrego Springs Tennis Club on January 13 & 14, 2001! It will be a mixed doubles tournament. We had a great turnout in December and hope many of you will come to the January tournament - we are all happy to be back in Borrego. We remind you that there will be no camping behind the tennis center. Those who have RVs will need to make reservations at Palm Canyon RV Resort, stay at Anza-Borrego state park or make other arrangements. If you are camping at Palm Canyon RV Resort, the phone number is 1-800-242-0044 or 760-767-5341. We have a number of sites reserved for our group, so mention that you are a member of Borrego Springs Tennis Club and they will assign you a site in our group area for $21 per night. If you are planning to play in the January tournament, please sign up at the clubhouse by Friday night so that Gary Edwards knows how many are planning to play. If you cannot be there by Friday night, call Gary Edwards at 619-390-8412 or email him at garyre@home.com before Thursday of that week or call one of our other members and ask them to sign up for you. The draw will be completed by 9:00 P.M. Friday night and play will begin at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday.

If you have not already paid your dues for this season, we remind you that they are due Dues are $75 per person for the season and they may be paid at the next tournament or mailed to Fred Wantland. Make out your check to Borrego Springs Tennis Club and mail it to:

TREASURERS REPORT

BSTC has $6000.00 in the bank after paying this month's rental. We have $3800.00 committed for the rest of the rental charges for the season. At the present time we have 49 paid-up members.

Lynda Fay's Tortilla Soup

Roasted or baked chicken, shredded	3 cans chicken broth
4 chicken bouillon cubes	1 can Mexican stewed tomatoes
1 can Mexican stewed tomatoes w/jalapeno peppers	1/2 cup rice
1 onion	1 clove garlic
cilantro	cumin

Put tortilla chips in bowl with shredded Mexican cheese on tortillas then pour soup on top. Top with 2 slices of avocado.
