The format will be determined by the turnout -- If we have a large turnout, we will try to at least partially run the new round robin format - which requires 8 or 16 per group. Low turnouts (not divisible by 8) will necessitate our usual double elimination format. The new round robin format requires groups of 8 people, and it is rare we can get such even-numbered turnouts. Vickie Mercer has volunteered to run next year's tournaments and will assist in the remaining 2 tournaments this season. As this is still "the season", it is a good idea to make reservations early. If you are planning to play, you should either call Jef (760-767-4047) or Vickie Mercer and leave a message if they're not there, or email Jef at jefbstc@gmail.com by 6pm on Friday April 13. , you must sign up by 6:00 p.m. on the eve of the tournament. Sign-up at the clubhouse, or contact Jef at Borrego Physical Therapy - where the draw will going on from 6:30pm to 9pm on Friday, April 13, 2012, phone 760-767-4047 or e-mail: jefbstc@gmail.com, or if all else fails, call the tennis center at 760-767-0577 the Friday afternoon before the tournament by 6pm(definitely before 7:30 p.m.). The draw will be completed by around 9:00 P.M. and play will begin on Saturday, possibly as early as 8:00 a.m. After 9pm on the Friday before the tournament, Jef will try to upload the draw (including partners, start times, and opponents) to our website at www.borregotennis.com and click the tournament date. If you want us to call you with the start time, and don't have internet access, add your phone number with your name when you sign up, or, preferably, arrange to have someone you know check and contact you. Also, if you are just joining the club, please provide contact information, preferably an e-mail address, if you wish to receive a newsletter, and if you want to be listed in the club's directory. If you want to share and consume goodies, there will be a Goody Bar in the clubhouse on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Do not bring any door prizes this time, as we will have an auction after dinner. Read on what the Yorba Linda gals have planned for us.
BSTC - APRIL AUCTION – PLUS TAX! FUND RAISEROh boy, it’s tax time! But for BSTC, it’s also AUCTION TIME!The CLUB WILL SCORE EXTRA FUNDS when you bring an item(s) - limit two - for auction at the BSTC Banquet on April 14.
Any item you wish to auction will be accepted. Tag your item(s) with a starting bid and the YL Ladies (formerly Harold’s Harem, maybe Dick’s Chick’s now) will handle the rest. After the banquet, we will take bids on all items at auction.
Bring a painting, a quilt (that would be Ursula!), a racquet; anything you think will sell - small or large, soft or hard, clean or dirty - right from the attic or garage. If you don’t use it you can sell it for BSTC’s benefit. Don’t forget, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure!
And, the PLUS TAX…well, it is TAX TIME so a $1.00 tax will be added to the final bid price. That $1.00 along with the sales price goes directly to BSTC. It’s a WIN-WIN. You show off your talent by donating your creation(s) or you get rid of unwanted stuff and BSTC gets more money to help continue our fun tournaments in Borrego Springs.
Let’s make this another great FUND RAISER AUCTION for the club.
Marla, Barbara and Sandi
BORREGO NEWSWildflowers were mostly absent for the March tournament - probably due to long intervals between rains and some heavy drying winds.

RECYCLED EMAIL JOKES submitted by Liz on 5/11/04Potentially and RealisticallyA young boy went up to his father and asked him,"Dad, what is the difference between potentially and realistically?"The father thought for a moment, then answered, "Go ask your mother if she would sleep with Robert Redford for a million dollars. Then ask your sister if she would sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars. Then ask your brother if he'd sleep with Tom Cruise for a million dollars.
Come back and tell me what you figured out."
So the boy went to his mother and asked, "Would you sleep with Robert Redford for a million dollars?"
The mother replied, "Yes, I believe I would! We could really use that money to fix up the house and send you kids to a great college!"
The boy then went to his sister and asked, "Would you sleep with Brad Pitt for a million dollars?"
The girl replied, "Oh my God! I LOVE Brad Pitt! I would sleep with him in a heartbeat, are you nuts?!?!?"
The boy then went to his brother and asked, "Would you sleep with Tom Cruise for a million dollars?"
"Of course," the brother replied. "Do you know how much a million could buy?"
The boy pondered that for a few days, then went back to his dad. His father asked him, "Did you find out the difference between potentially and realistically?"
The boy replied, "Yes sir. Potentially, we're sitting on three million dollars, but realistically, we're living with two sluts and a queer."
