A lunar eclipse high in the night sky and a racing comet occurring at the same time. Was this a sign of things to come? Could this be a warning. Is this the end??!! No, it was just another fabulous weekend at the Tennis Club in Borrego Springs!
This months Tournament is scheduled for April 26th & 27th. Bring a pal along to play in our friendly games in the sun. Make sure to call or write John Schultz no later than the Friday night before the tournament. John can be reached at:
John SchultzWant to know the time when you are suppose to play? Call the BSTC Clubhouse at (619) 767-9748 on Friday, April 25th, between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. John will let you know if you have to play at 8 a.m. or if you can sleep a little more.
Tournament cost is $10 per person. You must join the club to play in a second tournament of any season, pro-rating at $6 per missed tournament. The yearly fee at the beginning of the season is only $35. RV sites are just $7.50 per day. Tent sites are only $5.00 per day.
April is the month for our banquet. Date is set for Saturday, April 26th. The event will be held at La Casa Del Zorro. It is located at: 3845 Yaui Pass Road, Borrego Springs. Festivities will start at 7:00 p.m. A dinner for BSTC members costs $15.00 and $22.69 for non-members. This includes gratuity. Checks must be received no later than April 11, 1997.
A mailer with menu selections for the evening is included later in this newsletter.

Laughlin Trip
BSTC will be having a weekend of gambling and tennis in Laughlin. If you are interested in attending, we will be meeting at the Hilton in Laughlin, Nevada, on April 14, 1997. Good luck with swinging the racquet and the one-arm bandit.
April Hike
Nature Hike - Where Ruth Johnson is going to take us this month will be a magical mystery tour. Depending on the heat of the day, will determine were we all will be going. To attend this adventure, please meet at the BSTC parking lot at 8 a.m. Friday, April 25,1997. Let the adventure begin...Camping at San Clemente State Beach
Join us for camping, beach, bike rides, and especially tennis at San Clemente State Beach. Date is set for Thursday, September 25, 1997. It will be for 4 fun filled nights (or come earlier or stay later). For reservations, call DESTINET Reservation System at 1-800-444-7275. Ask for the hook-up area and the senior discount (age 62+), if you qualify.

Fullerton Tournament in May
At the March Tournament, John Shultz was organizing a tennis tournament in Fullerton in May. At this point, John had over forty members signed up for this event. If you are interested, please give John a call at 714-738-8842. We will have more information about this event in the next newsletter.
End of Season Prize Drawing for Perfect Attendance
For those who attended all 6 games this season, three drawings for $200.00 will be made at the banquet. So far the members that are in the running for the money are Janell & Marty Acosta, Pete Azar, Linda Blaemers, Dick Buechner, Gary Edwards, Kresti Garthwaite, Betty Gibson, Frances & Jim Gilloon, Jeff Johnson, Barbara Kirsh, Jack Minkle, Carmen Perez, Mary Quimby, John Schultz, and Dick Stadelbacher. Vacation Rental
