LUCKY WINNER

The winner of the $50 prize after the April tournament was Betty Gibson. Congratulations, Betty!

The banquet was held on the patio of Palm Canyon Resort. The weather was perfect and 44 members enjoyed the fellowship and a delicious dinner. Thanks to JaNell Acosta for her hard work in arranging a beautiful banquet for us!

Over Memorial Day Holiday, 46 or so of our members attended a wonderful weekend of tennis in El Cajon. We played tennis Saturday and Sunday at Parkway Tennis Club, then Monday morning at Singing Hills Tennis Club. Thanks to Pete & Trish Azar and to Gary & Rachel Edwards who were our hosts for dinner on Saturday & Sunday. We enjoyed the tennis, the great dinners and especially seeing our BSTC friends. Bob & Lorlie Petersen were there too, it was wonderful seeing them!

We hope you’re planning to join us for our annual campout at San Clemente State Beach. We will be there starting Thursday, September 24 for four nights. We’ll enjoy camping, the beach, bike rides and tennis. If you haven’t already made your reservations you may call PARKNET Reservation System at 1-800-444-7275. Ask for the hook-up area and if you qualify (age 62+) ask for a senior discount. Hope to see many of you then!

We have an agreement with Mr. Bame to continue to hold our tennis tournaments at our old facility. We may have to pay a little more per tournament, but we would be in our familiar environment. The board has decided to schedule our 1998-99 tournaments at Borrego Springs Tennis Center on the following dates as voted on by the membership:
