On Friday, Jef & Kathy got a late start and arrived at the dry lake bed that is Homestead IV - the ghost town area of Goler Heights.  Jefe's first night shot - experimenting with new camera |
 First night was a bit chilly - high in the 60s, but next 2 days got up to 80 in the afternoon |

On Saturday, Kathy cooked up a batch of fritatas - McD and Flaco partook.  Erik had been fooling around on a quad as we prepared breakfast, making these donuts  View from abandoned mining shack on mountainside NE of camp  Jefe & Flaco pulled out a few targets for the camp  Jefe's "Canon v. Nikon project"  ...the cannon is an accessory of the Canon  Logan, grandpa Hank, and Flaco discuss who might win this contest  Ready for blank charge for Jefe's joint "Stonewall Jackson Pollack Project" and "Canon v. Nikon Project"  The Nikon held up after a direct hit with a blank charge, so setting up here for a projectile interaction - note the "Stonewall Jackson Pollack" project was also being done at the same time  Ready for projectile part of "N v. C" project  Part of Nikon after phase 2 completed  Kathy gathered other Nikon pieces into this pile  Pieces of Nikon & affected antique heater "containment barrier" after projectile hit  Result of somewhat successful first attempt of the "SJP Project"  Wind made these projects somewhat difficult  A volunteer artist provided this painting for phase 2 or the "SJP Project" |
 The completed work of art  Logan painted this interesting face on the back of the 3rd and last canvas  Jefe added a 4th "canvas"  Just after phase 3 of "SJP Project"  "Can non"  Result of phase 3 - Logan abandoned it, so Jefe took it home  Shooting targets with cannon, Jefe tried a 4th SJP project, but this was too far off-center to be affected   Also, no far targets were injured by the cannon this day - sorry Steve! On Sunday, Kathy didn't feel well and the wind started kicking up again, so Jef & Kathy packed up and left around noon. Jef got finger cramps from driving, so Kathy took over, despite being very sleepy and drove the last half of the 4.5 hour trip home.
