| For our December, 1997 hike, Karyn and I took a circuitous loop that started going down this slot, where we found someone to take our picture, going up another, and finishing by going down a ridge back to the car parked at the top of the Slot. | Borrego Mountain, West Butte, rises several hundred feet above the Borrego Badlands. The top is a large area with a handful of peaks that seem like they could be the highest. Here is a photo taken by Karyn, note shadow at bottom right, from one such peak looking at Jef on another. None of these proved to be the actual peak. |
