 Tin can on Coyote summit Looking towards Salton Sea | Did ambitious bi-atholon: Biked from house 10 miles to other side of valley. Hiked to summit of Coyote Mountain from Henderson Valley Road (>10 miles round trip). Saw Bighorn ram near summit. Barely made it home, limping & pushing bike, as my knee was going out about 3 miles from home, but I pushed it, since I was running out of daylight. Whole trip of 30 miles done in under 8 hours. Noted in register that Dan Cain hiked up from Horse Camp in 1h 50m in 1983, and an Englishman by the name of Paul Johnson (no relation?) went up from 'the hopper' in 1h 4min. Both are pretty darned good hike(runs). |
