East Vallecitos Hike

April 2000

Jef tried to go up Alma Wash to his first register placed in Starfish Cove, but went up wrong canyon. Made it up to top of western-most peaks of Vallecitos range, where some interesting geologic formations were found. Also, views of the Gypsum Mine were found at the top. This was a 6 hour hike, and climbed about 1800' from start.

After an hour, reached the mouth of the canyon

After 3.5 hours, reached the top
