BORREGO SPRINGS ROTARY MEMBER BOOK
Speaker: Bill Lewis
Bill has tried to redo Bylaws & Constitution. Continued changes without going to National Committee. Bill will not make any changes in it, as it was revised in 2011. He wanted to thank Kate for the work she did on the pictures and personal info.

Books are set up so they can be easily updated. Meeting time was established as 7:45am, as the gavel rings at 8am. The officers of the club were reviewed as well as all the important dates in our club for 2012 - 2013. Bill highly recommends as many people as possible go to the DIstrict Conference on August 4, 2012. He discussed what will be covered at the conference. The committee chairs were reviewed and the past persidents discussed. Bill noted a lot of the past presidents were no longer members of Rotary. How to sponsor a new member and membership application was discussed. User name for Rotary is rotary and the password is 5340. The requirements to become a Blue Badge to a Red Badge were reviewed.

CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE RAM'S HORN
Each year the goal of the web page and the newsletter is to report on the club’s activities. The role of the newsletter is to inform and educate. Why not try doing it, you will like it. One of the most important tools that should be given to every member is an updated member book at the first meeting in July. How can members understand Rotary unless they have a copy? Why not send the member book electronically? There seems to be confusion as to the operating and foundation budgets. Every member should have a clear understanding what funds go to operations and which go to the foundation. There seems to be puzzlement as to how the annual budgets are presented and approved. Reporting the results of a fund raising event should be right after the event or ASAP. If budgets are completed using accepted principles, it should be rare to have budget meetings.
