Diane Hydoski announced that Rotary could meet the last 2 weeks at the Palms/Crazy Coyote, as the Borrego Springs Resort will be closed. It was voted unanimously that the meeting would take place at the Palms/Crazy Coyote.
It was also decided that Rotary would meet for breakfast, but not collect any money, as each individual can pay for their own breakfast. Rotary can only be offline 2 weeks out of the year and it will be around the Christmas Holidays, vs. the 2 weeks in August this year.
Martha Diechler: thanked everyone for their donations for her trip to Liberia. At some locations where she taught, there is no running water, no electricity, and people live in huts. Liberia is a deeply religious country, but there is a lot of illness (Malaria, for example). Do not drink the water! The first night there, she accidentaly drank the water and had Montezuma's revenge.
She went to the library presentation "The Drums". There were young men from Senegal who played the drums and we all danced and had a great time!
