Speech "Health!" by Tish Wagner

Tish came to Borrego Springs as a State Park ranger in '02. She won the Peg Leg Liar's contest in '02. She was born & raised in Southern Rodesia(now Zimbabwe). In 2005 - 2006, she was looking for more fulltime work in Borrego Springs. She went to the mountains in Arizona & worked fulltime for a few years.

She was called by Austin Custodia to try out for the lead roll of "On Golden Pond" as she was not working full time. She came down and auditioned for the part, which she got, so she moved down & played the part & worked as a waitress. She used her tip money to get her Nutritionist degree. She started the Heath food store with the help of her mother & a psychic.

She felt this would help our town to become more healthy. Before she opened the store, she did not realize how many people in this town needed gluten free diets because of celiac disease, Chrohn's disease & other diseases that do not tolerate wheat products.

When you go into her store with a problem, see Tish. She will help you either with what she knows or she will look things up in her computer that will solve the problem.

The vendors who come to the farmer's market at the Circle on Friday mornings are for the most part organic, altho they can't aford the cost of obtaining the "organic" certification, but the produce is not raised on pesticides, hormones, antibiotics & other chemicals.

The soils today have been depleted from nutrients that were in the soil before modern farming methods. Taking a daily multi-vitamin & the omega III fatty acid are great ideas to supplement your diet. Balancing your blood sugar can be assisted with cinnamin as well as certain medications.

Tish, as well, promotes exercise which can be as simple as walking her dog daily. Movement is essential to health. 2 doors down, she has a health food store for dogs & cats. She has very healthy food, treats & supplements for your pets.
