Mission/Rotary Giving:
  1. Direct giving - from club donations, anything that is not restricted
  2. Pass thru funds - donations that are earmarked for a certain project. Booster money is a pass thru account
  3. Every year the Income/Expenses is reviewed with the club
  4. General giving & pass thru = total giving
Profit/loss - income vs. expenses
  1. The club is not getting enough money to fund Tanksgiving baskets & Toys for kids. This has been a trend for the past 2 years
  2. Tax services looks asque - the accountant had not billed for 4 years, so that is why it looks so high this year
  3. Assets:
    • Not getting as much on CDs or Money Market. Money market does not allow us to write checks. This year the club has not pulled any money from the money market account.
    • Rotary dollars =
      BS Rotary Fund$16,943.90
      CD12,176.89
      Money Market58,456.28
The rest are in restricted funds that do not belong to Rotary35,593.19

  4. General discussion:
Because the Booster Club does not have a 501C3, they use us for moving their $ thru the club so that they do not have to have a 501C3 status (Non-profit). It is good PR for the club. WIthout the Rotary Club, we would not be able to have an active sports program.
  5. Update on the OW Learning Center:
The bus takes 48 students each day at OW. The first year Rotary paid for all the expenses. The students in OW are allowed to leave early & return to the OW Learning Center to complete their homework - 3:30 to 6:30pm M-F. Very little $ is now coming from Rotary to pay for the OW Learning Center. Monthly rent & utilities are paid by Rotary. This year the learning center is requesting $8200 to clean/maintain computers, an aide to lead the group, rent & utilities.
  6. Jul Nickerson - update on programs for next 2 weeks:
Ray Wickel is talking about a special program - RYLA project with Lori Seagram, B&G Club - Danny Sherlock will speak

Diane Hydoski won the drawing and donated winnings to the foundation.

THE OBJECT OF ROTARY

The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

  1. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service
  2. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society.
  3. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life
  4. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace thru a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
