Happy $

  1. Martha Deichler - CA High School Exit Exam: 96% of 10th graders passed - highest ever in Borrego; All 32 passed the math section.
  2. Lori Seagram - Interact having a pool party at my house - 5 will be graduating & they will wear Interact banners when they graduate. All get a membship certificate & 4 girls get special recognition. Tanya & one other Interact will to go to the Governors Dinner on the 27th of June. They have received special recognition.

Announcements:
  • There was a great work day at the Senior Center May 3 (Saturday). All of the work was greatly appreciated & a special letter was sent to Rotary for this recognition.
  • Kathy Johnson received her pin for bringing in new member, Roy Silliker last year.
  • For Bill's last year's presidential service, he received a beautiful plaque.

      Board Meeting:

      Decisions are being made how to assist the new library with their latest improvements. A $100,000 donation is being considered. The library is moving to a new building which will be built across from the Post Office. The building will be a combo library & community center to better meet the needs of the community. There will be rooms for meetings within this new building. $7 Million is needed to build it and $1 Million is needed to furnish it.

      Martha Deichler won the drawing and donated winnings back to the club.





THE OBJECT OF ROTARY

The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

  1. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service
  2. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society.
  3. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life
  4. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace thru a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
