Meeting Summary
The following describes the meeting of the date of this newsletter - please contact Kathy Johnson for corrections:

The meeting was called to order at 8am.

Jim Dies came in representing the Civic Council, which Wants to buy a new Rami (Borrego's Ram mascot) costume. $1300 is the total amount needed.

We need new members!

There was a discussion about how to draw new members:

  1. An article for the paper providing info to the public regarding what Rotary does internationally, but most of all what Rotary does locally.
  2. Using the Rotary Breakfast & The Taste of Borrego as a forum for new membership.

THE OBJECT OF ROTARY

The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

  1. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service
  2. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society.
  3. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life
  4. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace thru a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
